Religion doesn't believe in 'original critical thought', it is all
about 'beliefs'. <br>
If you are worried that some religion would be against thinking for
yourself, you won't be able to achieve actual philosophy anyway. <br>
Hang with 'beliefs', anyone can have any beliefs; and the lds has some
doosies! <br>
You have to be sincerely incapable of 'philosophical thought' to
believe that crap!
answers2: I will try to be organized and logical about this one. <br>
<br>
Philosophy is commonly the discipline concerned with the ultimate
questions, founded approximately by Aristotle in his writing called
Metaphysica (the origin of the word, metaphysics). Metaphysics defined
that some of nature's questions may exist in the abstract. This is in
keeping with a celestial god, because the questions can be answered in
the abstract---they can 'seem' irrational without 'being' irrational.
Aristotle also founded the logical syllogism, which by association
with metaphysics became a powerful tool for 'seeing into the
universe'. Accepting philosophy is like accepting the mind. Philosophy
today, as a function of Aristotle (who was called 'The Philosopher' in
medieval europe) and his followers, consists of three major
disciplines: Logic, Ethics, and Metaphysics (Ontology), all of which
have (at least) had a profound effect upon the Catholic Church. <br>
<br>
A god that doesn't exist would be upset, because such a god cannot be
logical. But an irrational god would have no problem with philosophy,
because it is yet another set of laws that can be perversified. It is
tempting to say that philosophy is a form of feminine for God, which
is definitely in the tradition somewhere. The Cabbalah for example, is
a Jewish mystical study of the truth of God, presumably as a form of
logic. Logic to the human mind, but not to God. Logic makes no
difference to god, is the intuitive answer.
answers3: Everything that is seen has another dimension which is real
like gold in all ornaments water in all waves etc to in quire into
this cause of the world and the individual is philosophy
answers4: No. BYU, owned and funded by LDS, has a whole department for
studying philosophy: <br>
<br>
<a href="http://philosophy.byu.edu/"
rel="nofollow"class=Clr-b>http://philosophy.byu.edu/</a> <br>
<br>
Usually philosophy and religion touch on similar subjects, and the
language and manner of thinking and explaining both sorts of concepts
is similar. Learning to be a scholar of religion would help you be a
scholar of philosophy, and vice versa. LDS believe that any truth you
gain in life is a benefit to you eternally, and that God is and has
all truth. When philosophy is a true love of wisdom and search for
truth, it's just want God wants for people.
answers5: philosophy is like hot and cold mingling together to create
one temperament of warmth
answers6: Philosophy is a very good way to confuse oneself and to keep
him from ever coming to a knowledge of the truth. <br>
<br>
Most philosophy exists to justify one's own tastes and to decry
everybody else's. <br>
<br>
However, I think God would have no problem at all with someone getting
a good introduction to Kantian ethics. As far as philosophical
systems go, it's number one. The problem, though, is that no
philosophical system has -- or can have, for that matter -- an eternal
perspective, so they all fall short.
answers7: The pursuit of knowledge and applying it to life. I do not
think it is against religion it might actually teach you how to
understand religion in a way so that you can relate. I think religion
with some philosophy might make God happy because you are learning
about life and ALL PATHS LEAD TO GOD!
answers8: Actually, it is not anything with knowledge, since one of
the more popular questions in philosophy is whether we can even know
anything. <br>
<br>
Philosophy actually translate to "love of wisdom". Socrates once
said, "The only true wisdom is in knowing you know nothing". <br>
<br>
Many theistic philosophers such as Descartes, Pascal, Socrates and
others would say that philosophy and reason was given to us by the
gods or God. Socrates was tried and wrongly convicted for being an
atheist, (as well as corrupting the youth), and was sentenced to
death. His defense for using philosophy as a guide to the truth was
that he was doing what the gods/God had wanted. Ironic ending for
him; he was put to death for supposedly being an atheist, yet his only
defense was that he was fulfilling God's wishes. I think people just
got mad because he made politicians look stupid when he used his
dialectic method to show their errors in reasoning. But it seems that
most great philosophers don't believe it goes against any religion or
spirituality or deity. In fact, religion is a stem of philosophy.
<br>
<br>
I hope that answers your question.
answers9: There is no restriction against learning philosophy, just
know that philosophy is flawed, just like all the conjectures of men.
answers10: Clever phrases by using a wise man. And it is by Voltaire,
no longer volitaire. Now i am now not a historical past-informed,
however what I get that to mean is that one will have to judge
individuals with the aid of their willingness to ask questions. For
example, if any one does not ever ask, but always claims to know, then
he is almost always regularly unsuitable. Also, the questions must be
the right kind of questions. For instance, any one who asks "How do i
know i'm right?" is being extra sincere to himself than anyone who
would not ask that of himself, however nonetheless perpetually claims
to have solutions. Edit: Yea, no trouble. You see how to get first
reply on an answerboard like that is to first post an incomplete reply
after which edit it to completion. It is only a tactic i use,
considering that I think it's unfair that the extra entire an answer
is, the later it is going to be posted, and the much less men and
women will see it.

im serious about a careah in the performing arts, but is it practical?
answers1: In whatever career (not careah) you decide to take in the
performing arts I implore you to focus strongly on English
composition. This knowledge is crucial to have in the fields of
business, art, performance, or licking envelopes at home.
answers2: Well, if you're going to go to a performing arts school
you're going to need high grades in the core subjects (English, Maths,
Science or whatever it is at your school) and judging by your grammar
(I don't wanna have to do this) you won't even be able to touch one
with a bargepole. <br>
But anyway, like I would tell anyone trying to make it in the arts,
practice makes perfect just practice technique and take every class
available.

What jobs are there, and how, for a Performing Arts Major?
answers1: There are always jobs available - if one disregards the
disconnect between a performing arts backround or degree and what one
gets paid for. Jobs ranging from cooking fast food, waiting tables,
working for collection agencies, desk jobs at a hotel, etc., to higher
stress jobs like sales on commission, or higher risk jobs like in
construction trades. Pick up the employment ads from any major metro
newspaper and there you go. <br>
<br>
Unlike High School, where a good school will strive to prep you to be
a good citizen and to have a basic education for life, colleges will
sell you whatever you want to spend your tuition on (or your parent's
money), regardless of its "market value" in the real world. Nearly all
of the responsibility to choose wisely then depends on you. So here
you are, asking. I hope you now hear the answers offered. <br>
<br>
I hope you pursue your interests in the performing arts, but I
strongly recommend relegating them to second priority, vs. some field
where there is stronger demand for trained people. Business degrees
offer some potential, while the "graying of America" continues to
drive the health care industry, many different possibilities there.
You are right at the edge of making such decisions, and I hope you
choose the less-fun but better-paid path. <br>
<br>
The arts will always be there. It's just so much nicer not to have to
try to play with sore or injured fingers from a hard "day job", and to
have money in the bank to buy what you want to perform with.
answers2: There <br>
are <br>
no <br>
jobs. (Added - in the arts, anymore. Agreeing with Danny - there are
always jobs - the horrible, low-level kind, and the decent-wage, "I
can still perform where I want, because my bills are paid by GOOD
employment" kind.) <br>
<br>
People with multiple degrees from Juilliard are not finding work.
Immoral as it is - there is no way to make it ILLEGAL - colleges
continue to accept people who are qualified, get then thru a program,
graduate them - and them they are DONE - next, please. There is
NOTHING that says you will ever be employed in a filed just because
you LIKE it. I have three degrees in classical music, and have made
this my career since 1971 - but that was THEN. I retired from my
conducting/teaching job in 2008, and have great insurance, and a heap
of $$ put away - as do MANY of us - but that is not going to happen
now. You have a better chance of landing an NBA contract than ever
getting steady paid work in the arts. By all means, study for your
own enjoyment - but learn something that PAYS, and will give you a
decent life. This is NOT *selling out* - it is making intelligent
choices. "Selling out" is doing low-level disgusting things loosely
connected with your art, just so you can SAY you work in the arts - I
have played almost a thousand weddings at elegant country clubs, and I
have classical colleagues who think THAT is selling out - until they
find out what I PAY my musicians. Now those gigs are gone - people
bring an iPod - seriously. <br>
<br>
So before you invest one more minute or one more dollar in this,
thinking it is going to feed you and pay your rent - wake up, open
your eyes. You may think you are one in a million - but you are
really one OF a million. Sorry - but true.

Help!Performing arts?
answers1: i understand how you feel, i personally love music. but you
would need your parents help with this, so yes please do that.
answers2: I can't offer much advice on getting into the school... I
auditioned for performing arts schools for Musical Theatre, but I
didn't get in because I'm not a dancer. It seems like you've got that
covered. :) <br>
<br>
But I do have experience telling my parents that I'd rather study
music and theatre than medicine like I'd always planned. My first bit
of advice is to do some research. Learn what the different career
possibilities are as a dancer. I know you want to perform, but
dancing is very physically demanding, and you won't be able to do it
forever, even if you stay healthy and don't get injured. Look into
dance therapy programs, choreography, and things like that. Find out
what it would take to do those (education, certification, start-up
costs, etc.). Look into the statistics of dancing. What percentage
of dancers who enter a professional training program (such as a
performing arts school) actully go on to be professional dancers? How
many of them are still dancing professionally after 5 years? 10?
This is a lot of work, but I promise that if you show your parents
that you are serious about this and know what you are talking about,
they will take you more seriously.
answers3: definitely talk to your parents! duh they'd be the ones
letting you go or not. you should definitely talk to them about it cuz
it probably costs a lot and they'd know what's good for ya
answers4: When I got into Cal Arts which is one of the hardest fine
art schools in the nation to get into, i was accepted by talent
first... <br>
My thing with my dancing is that if I don't do it from my heart then
the technique is useless! Dance from your heart kiddo, your body will
know what to do! If you really truly love to dance you'll know what
to do! Blessings, Joyel

do the schools in the united states still teach history?
answers1: I m a splash at a loss for words on the comments right here.
If the youngsters are crossing the border each and every day then they
have a sort of enable to be(or a minimum of flow legally) interior the
U.S. that would recommend they don't seem to be illegally entering
into, perfect? So the unlawful action being finished is that the
youngster is attending public American education, no longer the
crossing of the border. The border cities ought to do some thing to
greater helpful help those college systems, and reform our education

why dont we have white history month?
answers1: Good question and why dont we have white entertainment tv
channel or naawp.
answers2: I believe there is not a month allocated to white history,
because it is a subject taught in school. What don't you know about
white history? What do you learn about black history in February, not
much. They should cancel black history month, people who care about
black history already know, and it gives racist people one more thing
to whine about.
answers3: Damn good question, but we live in an era where we must all
be politcally correct
answers4: Not Sure.
answers5: that's true actually. ive not thought of that before, but
its an interesting question. we should be proud of prominent white
people who have made an impact on our history in some way like
important black people have. yes!!
answers6: Its a political standpoint, to compensate blacks for all the
misfortunes and injustices they have suffered in the hands of whites.
answers7: EGAD! Talk about stirring up a hornets nest! <br>
Having an actual "white history" month would cause certain people....I
wont mention any names but their initials are Al Sharpton and Jesse
Jackson, to have uncontrollable fits for the rest of their race-card
playing lives.
answers8: We do, White History Month is January, March, April, May,
June, July, August, October, November and December. <br>
<br>
Black History month is February <br>
<br>
Hispanic history month is September <br>
<br>
I think it's entirely racist that we have to have specific months set
aside to teach one ethnicity's history. If I were a teacher I would
include the black history throughout my entire year's syllabus instead
of only focusing on it in one month. <br>
<br>
How many people do you suppose would retain information about Math or
reading or English if we only taught those subjects one month per
year? <br>
<br>
That's right, not many. <br>
<br>
EDIT: <br>
TheGeneral might be a little obtuse. There is no such thing as NAABP
the expansion of the acronym NAACP is National Association for the
Advancement of Colored People. I'm colored...white. I'm not
transparent. The NAACP works for its members, if you take the time to
join and do some volunteering they'll work for you too.

black history already know, and it gives racist people one more thing
to whine about.
answers3: Damn good question, but we live in an era where we must all
be politcally correct
answers4: Not Sure.
answers5: that's true actually. ive not thought of that before, but
its an interesting question. we should be proud of prominent white
people who have made an impact on our history in some way like
important black people have. yes!!
answers6: Its a political standpoint, to compensate blacks for all the
misfortunes and injustices they have suffered in the hands of whites.
answers7: EGAD!
<br>
<br>
Black History month is February <br>
<br>
Hispanic history month is September <br>
<br>
I think it's entirely racist that we have to have specific months set
aside to teach one ethnicity's history. If I were a teacher I would
include the black history throughout my entire year's syllabus instead
of only focusing on it in one month. <br>
<br>
How many people do you suppose would retain information about Math or
reading or English if we only taught those subjects one month per
year? <br>
<br>
That's right, not many. <br>
<br>

<br>
From myths about valleys of diamonds protected by snakes, to the
production of millions of carats in rough diamonds each year, the
history of diamonds is one of mystical power, beauty and commercial
expertise. <br>
<br>
<br>
Early History <br>
The first recorded history of the diamond dates back some 3,000 years
to India, where it is likely that diamonds were first valued for their
ability to refract light. In those days, the diamond was used in two
ways-for decorative purposes, and as a talisman to ward off evil or
provide protection in battle. <br>
<br>
<br>
<br>
The Dark Ages <br>
The diamond was also used for some time as medical aid. One anecdote,
written during the Dark Ages by St Hildegarde, relates how a diamond
held in the hand while making a sign of the cross would heal wounds
and cure illnesses. Diamonds were also ingested in the hope of curing
sickness. During the early Middle Ages, Pope Clement unsuccessfully
used this treatment in a bid to aid his recovery. <br>
<br>
<br>
<br>
<br>
<br>
<br>
The Middle Ages <br>
During the Middle Ages more attention was paid to the worth of
diamonds, rather than the mystical powers surrounding them. Due to the
heightened public awareness of the value of diamonds, mine owners
perpetuated myths that diamonds were poisonous. This was to prevent
the mineworkers swallowing the diamonds in an attempt to smuggle them
out of the mines. <br>
<br>
<br>
<br>
<br>

The popularity of diamonds surged during the Middle Ages, with the
discovery of many large and famous stones in India, such as the
Koh-I-Noor and the Blue Hope. Today India maintains the foremost
diamond polishing industry in the world. <br>
<br>
<br>
<br>
<br>
As the Indian diamond supply dwindled, smaller finds occurred in
Borneo and Brazil, but these were not sufficient to meet the
ever-increasing demand for diamonds. The mid-nineteenth century
discovery of diamonds near the Orange River in South Africa sparked
the world's biggest diamond rush, and helped to satiate the world's
increasing appetite for diamonds. <br>

Recent Times <br>
During the mid-nineteenth century, diamonds were also being discovered
in eastern Australia. However, it was not until late 1970's, after
seven years of earnest searching, that Australia's alleged potential
as a diamond producer was validated. <br>

On October 2nd 1979, geologists found the Argyle pipe near Lake

The genealogy of Jesus is mentioned in Matthew and Luke only. Matthew listed 26 forefathers from Joseph to Dav?
answers1: Matthew does leave out some names possibly because to prove
one's genealogy it was not necessary to name every link in the line of
descent. He must have copied just the necessary names from the public
register that would prove the descent of Jesus from Abraham and David.
<br>
Theres a lot more detailed information as to why their accounts differ
but the main thing that they wanted to do was to prove Jesus'
genealogy and they accomplished that. <br>
<br>
If you compare Ezra 7:1-5 with 1Chronicles 6:1-15 you will see that
Ezra omitted several names that were contained in the listing of the
priestly line so it must not have been necessary to name every single
ancestor to satisfy the Jews. <br>
<br>
I read an interesting point about how the scribes and Pharisees and
the Sadducees were bitter enemies of Christianity, and they were
always looking for ways to discredit Jesus. If Mathew and Lukes
genealogy were not correct they would have challenged it.
answers2: I guess this means Jesus was a fictional character who never
really existed.
answers3: I smell a metaphore....
answers4: The number is different because one traces to Abraham, the
other all the way bacl to Adam. <br>
You answered your own question about the different names. One geneolgy
is through Mary <br>
<br>
<br>
The reason for two geneologies is so that people could not claim Jesus
was not the rightful heir to davids throne since Joseph was not his
real father (Mary being impregnated by God).
answers5: God inspired their thoughts, and the thoughts God gave
Matthew and Luke had nothing to do with the genealogy of Jesus. The
thoughts God inspired was the thought of 42 generations. <br>
<br>
With the knowledge of 14+14+14 also known as 42 generations and "forty
and two months" also known as 42 generations, all the mysteries of
heaven and earth can be learned if you believe with your heart, and
mind.
answers6: The genealogies link to David through a cursed line. They
actually prove that Iesus couldn't have been the Jewish Messiah. <br>
<br>
Glaring mistakes like that also indicate that neither of the authors
had a clue about Judaism.

MLM Genealogy Leads: Do MLM Genealogy Lists Work?
answers1: Having success using MLM genealogy leads depends on a few
things. First, you need to have a good MLM genealogy report that
hasn't been hammered with calls and isn't super old. Second, you need
to be willing to pick up the phone and make calls. Many people who say
MLM genealogy leads don't work have never really worked them
correctly. If you are scared of the phone than this isn't the strategy
for you. <br>
<br>
If you are willing to put in the time, get a good list and actually
work it correctly the results are worth it. It doesn't take that many
new recruits to have a huge impact on your business.
answers2: Recycled leads? <br>

Here's one critical look at them: <br>

MLM Genealogy Leads: Do MLM Genealogy Lists Work? <br>
I've been involved with a network marketing company for about a year.
I've burned through my warm market and am looking for other ways to
build my MLM business. I've been doing some research on MLM genealogy
leads and wanted to see if anyone has any experience working these
types of lead...
answers4: I purchased a MLM genealogy list before and it sucked. Guess
that's what you get when you spend $50 on a list of 25,000 people
though ;-)

secret method! <br>

Then enter in your particulars to receive FREE OF CHARGE information
about the method. <br>

answers6: When it comes to "cold" leads (meaning leads that aren't
calling you) I like MLM genealogy leads over the other lead choices
out there. I think it's best to target people that fit the description
of who you would like in your business. Do I want someone who is broke
and looking for a job? Of course not… Unfortunately that's what most
biz opp seeker leads are. <br>
<br>
It's a much better strategy to go after people who have owned a
business in the past or participate in outgoing and ambitious
industries like mortgage brokers, real estate agents, etc. <br>
<br>
The concept of recruiting from MLM genealogy lists is to prospect
people that have owned an MLM business in the past. Are they all going
to be interested in what you have to offer? Of course not, BUT just
like working any type of lead, it's all a numbers game.
answers7: Recruiting from MLM genealogy lists is one of the many
strategies I use to build my home business. I've been network
marketing for several years and prefer MLM genealogy leads over
opportunity seeker leads. That doesn't mean that this is the only way
I build my business though. I also have a capture page setup and
generate a few of my own leads from advertising online. <br>
<br>
If you are going to buy an MLM genealogy list though remember that you
will get what you pay for. There are some good network marketing
downline lists out there and there are some that are absolutely
worthless. I would suggest talking to Josh over at
ExplosiveGenealogyLeads.com. He's been doing this for years and
doesn't re-sell lists over and over again.
answers8: MLM genealogy Lists does work. It's how you approach the
prospect when you are calling them. Of course, you will get people who
are not interested at all. But, all you need is a few and it's a
numbers game. These people have already have some experience in the
MLM network. I am in a company, which actually advocate us using MLM
genealogy lists because this is how the CEO built his previous
downline before having his own company.
answers9: My wife is into network marketing too and she has been doing
some research on MLM genealogy recently. Although she is not an expert
in this and she's taking help from a couple of sample cases like

at a faster pace. It's only the internet you can take help from and I
wish you best of luck for that.

parents and grandparents if they are still living. The records will
always be there. Your grandparents won't. No web site is gong to tell
you how grandpa lied about his age to join the Marines in 1942, or how
grandma had to eat corn meal mush for dinner during with the
depression, or how your dad paid his way through college by gardening.

You won't find living people on any of the sites except the phone book

have to find your grandparents' or great grandparents' birth dates and
maiden names somewhere besides the Internet. <br>

The free sites are supported by advertising, just like TV. You can't
watch the Super Bowl without seeing a beer commercial, and you can't
surf for dead relatives without seeing an Ancestry advertisement. Many
people complain about advertisements. Please don't. They bring you the
"free" sites. There's no such thing as a free lunch. <br>
<br>
If you get serious you'll need a genealogy program. They are to family
research what "Word" is to writing a novel. I like Roots Magic. Family
Tree Maker is the market leader. Both cost around $29. The Mormons
will let you download PAF for free. It is clunky, but it is free. You
can sometimes find old versions of FTM or Family Origins (FO is the
predecessor of RM) in bargin bins at CostCo.

Dancing with the Stars. Who is a star?
answers1: C or D rate stars. Mostly has-beens, agings, talk show
hosts, and reality show stars. Understandable. The A-rated stars are
too expensive. They wouldn't want to wreck their career too soon
either. Can't expect Angelina Jolie to make a fool of herself on the
dance floor.

In text citations for a textbook with readings by different authors?
answers1: Personally I would credit the author who wrote the article.
It gives you more "sources" anyway and teachers usually ask that you
use a number of different sources.

Do you know the author?
answers1: It the article doesn't say, then it is unnamed staff at
World Book that wrote it. <br>
<br>
ENCYCLOPEDIA ARTICLE or DICTIONARY ENTRY, UNSIGNED MLA 5.6.8 <br>
<br>
"Onomatopoeia." Merriam-Webster's Collegiate Dictionary. 11th ed. 2003.
answers2: For that type of reference you don't have to cite the
author. Encyclopedia's have different citation rules. <br>
<br>
Something like this (depending on what our teacher requires): <br>
<br>
World Book Encyclopedia. 2007. "Name of Article".
answers3: there should be a name.. <br>
or ask a teacher tomorrow.
answers4: Usually with MLA documentation, if it's unknown, you can
leave the name out of the works cited page and just fill in the info
you know. But there should be a name with the article, so double
check. If you have any documentation issues, you can go to
http://www.dianahacker.com/resdoc/p04_c08_o.html
answers5: hmm...maybe you could look around in the back or around
where the article was. i don't rly use encyclopedia's that much, but
maybe that's what you could do. it was kinda like that in a book i
used for a research paper that had tons of articles and many different
articles. sry if this doesn't help. good luck!
answers6: If its an encyclopedia you don't put the author's name in
the bibliography unless its listed with the article. And since you're
asking I assume it isn't. I think there is a certain way that you are
supposed to site an encyclopedia but I don't know what it is. If you
have to just use the publisher or the name of the editor.

How do book lovers feel towards books?
answers1: When I read a good book, I get caught up in the story line.
Begin to feel the emotions of the characters and find myself relating
to their thoughts and emotions. A good book makes you think about it
for days after you've completed it. I'm known for getting caught up in
a book and not putting it down for hours. The plots make me smile,
laugh, cry, and when I feel emotion towards a character I know I'm
loving that book. I don't see a book as just a book. I see them as a
way to escape life for a few hours.
answers2: I read this question and wrote what I feel as an original poem <br>
<br>
I see a world that I want to be in, I see movies in my head and a
obsessive craving for more when a book ends. I feel like I am no
longer me, but a character fighting in a battle to be in these books
or wright about one. I cant describe the way my fingers grasp for the
pages of a book that takes me far and beyond what my imagination can
process. My soul separates from my body and I am magic. A being far
more than me. I can be who ever I want whenever and I am more than

answers4: You're truthfully very well, however I wasn't emotionally
hooked up. Lacking that, readers someday simply carry their eyes from
the web page, now not rather certain why they do not have an urge to
learn the following line.
answers5: wow...well i love them! literally... <br>

when i read a really good story, i feel lost into the world and i
cannot stop reading until i finish. often i will get inside the
characters heads, cheering, crying, or laughing along with them. i
guess they make me feel connected to it, in ways i cannot explain.
make you feel obsessed. <br>

how do i feel towards them? i feel like i would be homelessly dead
without them. i just love them!!
answers6: A good book doesn't necessarily make you feel happy at the
end, rather it makes you think. Oftentimes I find myself questioning
my view of the world, and what's truly important in life long after I
have turned the last page.
answers7: they help me get away from my f***ed up life. i don't read
those sappy, teenage stories about how everything is so messed up
either. i go for the deep (and useful) classics that get me away from
everything so i don't wallow.
<br>
I can be who ever I want whenever and I am more than
the no one I am when people pass me in the halls and only see another
person, not a human being or someone that can soar
