previous employer required to verify dates of employment?

Cody Shimko: you are no longer an employee they do not have to do anything unless judge orders them to

Kristina Brockwell: Your income tax records will verify your employment dates. Specifically the form W-2. You got a file copy of this every year for you to keep with your copy of your return. Contact the IRS if you are not clever enough to keep your own tax records.

Jude Kennelly: If the employer is balking, DHS should be able to confirm employment dates from the state's unemployment department. Employers file quarterly wage reports with the state division of employment security, workforce commission, employment development department, etc. and DHS can pull those records easily enough.Copies of your W-2s and pay stubs will also verify that information. You DO keep copies of those, right?...Show more

Esteban Faggett: please also cite legal references or places I can find information on this. If its not legal for them to refuse that, I would like to br! ing it to them to show them.
