Visual Arts program at LACHSA?

answers1: The LACHSA visual arts program is good, but many local
public and private schools have comparable or better programs. Arts
High (their cool name) focuses on the art, not the academics (they
make this very clear), the good test scores are because they have some
good students (especially in music) who spend many hours doing outside
tutoring. The problem with the lack of focus on academics is that some
students end up leaving when they figure out that they're behind where
they'd like to be academically for college admissions. So it depends
on what your options are as far as other schools. <br>

The info night on Nov 16 is full, but see if you can put your name on
the waitlist, you'd want to attend to find out what the school is
about. There is a campus tour the next day, again, you should attend
if you're thinking of applying. <br>

answers2: I think you'd get a more informed answer by posting your
question in the deviantart.com forum. Like this one, you have to
register, but it is an all around web site for artists of every
medium. The demographic leans heavily toward art students, so better
information could be found there. <br>

Doesn't LACHSA have a website? I'll bet they have a student forum,
too. Try other art/design sites as well. I'm a professional designer,
but I didn't know LA even had a high school for the arts. I thought it
was limited to film. <br>
