Dee Depung: "Sometimes I jus" what?Making it in acting requires the same diligence, hard work, luck, and patience required to make it in any other occupation. If you stick with it long enough, you will eventually "make it" in acting, you just got to pay your dues!...Show more

Andre Winegar: Pick a name that can be associated with the location of the group. For instance if you lived in the "Heights" area of your town you might call yourself the Heights Players. The possibilities are many.
Rivka Killmer: Take as many acting classes as you can afford. This not only gives you more skills but y! ou meet other wannabe actors who you can network with. Then maybe one day one of your friends will call you up and say, "I'm working on an indy shot and there's a part that would be just right for you." And it only takes one role to get you started. If you can write funny material, stand-up may be a way to get yourself noticed. Whoopi Goldberg, Robin Williams got their start that way.If you can write plays or movie scripts, you can create your own vehicles like Tyler Perry. He has been writing plays since he was 18. As of March 2005, his eight plays have grossed over US$75 million in tickets and DVD sales...Show more

Melissa! Lavallie: First off, know that if you want to go to college to learn to sing, you're either looking at a "musical theatre" or a "vocal performance" major. A vocal performance major is housed in the music department and focuses on classical singing, starting with Art songs and progressing to operatic arias. A musical theatre major may be housed either in the theatre or the music department, depending on the school and focuses on a different style of singing. So, depending on what you want to do will determine on where you end up going. There are some great schools for classical singing in NY - Julliard is obviously the top of the list, with the Manhattan School of Music a close second. if you're willing to go a little farther, the Boston Conservatory of Music and the New England Conservatory (also in Boston) also have great programs while being in close proximity. For the best musical theatre programs, you may also have to look outside NY - Univ of Michigan and Carnegie Me! llon both have very competitive, well respected programs. If you simply want to learn how to sing, check out the National Association of Teachers of Singing website (www.nats.org) for a listing of qualified teachers in your area....Show more
Soraya Coodey: Get in contact with the Entertainment Union of your Country, they will have the details. All the best :)
Cole Desher: i know of a really good theater company in milwaukee. it mainly puts on plays for children, but the adults get paid. it is a professional theater company and it performs in the same building as the Milwaukee symphony (MSO) and some other great performing arts companies. the name of the theater company is first stage, and they do at least one african-american appreciation play per year. the plays are almost every day three times per day for about two months. if you are willing to make a committment to acting, first find a good theater company and realize how hard life will be. you'll live off of ! ramen noodles for a while and probably will have only a bycicle, but if! it means doing what you want... it is definitely worth it....Show more
