Neville Dautremont: So Who told you, you had to go??!!! You should of just went fishing if you're going to moan all day.
Michelle Sohre: The couple thinks they're doing out-of-town guests a favour by having the wedding on a weekend that allows more time for leisurely travel to and from. Guests will therefore be more relaxed and have a better time at the wedding. The point is the wedding would be your trip for the weekend. You are choosing between it, or camping or fishing or whatever else you would do. Your choice to make. I do understand it can be inconvenient though. Three years in a row we spent our anniversary weekend attending other people's weddings when we wanted to be celebrating our own relationship!...Show more
Terrell Voltz: It's not selfish because no one is forced to attend. Plus, it may be more convenient for guests who have to travel. If you didn't like it, you should have RSVP'd that you weren't going.
Antone Youla: For everyone asking wh! y I didn't just refuse to go, because it was my cousin's wedding, and he's the only cousin I have here in the US that I've ever been close to, obviously I was obliged. Oh, and please, it doesn't take 3 days to fly anywhere in the US and back again. It's not like it's a last minute thing. You have like 3 months notice to get tickets.
Davida Gisriel: Many people have Memorial day weekend weddings..I would not have a wedding near any major holidays..and if some one did, I would have to rethink if I could attend or not.
Derrick Kloke: If you didn't want to go to your cousins wedding, you should have said no to the invitation. The fact that it happened over Memorial day weekend is irrelevant. You be complaining this much if it we're on the 4th of July, Labor Day weekend, Thanksgiving or Christmas? FAMILY is more important than a trip to Vegas. You can go there any other time of the year. No it's not selfish of people, it's actually a very good idea. Families often g! et together for 3 day weekends. So why not having a wedding wh! en all of the family can be there to attend? Family should ALWAYS be your first priority....Show more
Rodrigo Pezley: I got married in MayThe first thing we did was cross out Memorial Day Weekend and Mother day WeekendA lot of people choice these weekends thinking it's a good thingI have been to weddings on the 4th of July weekend when it's was a 3 day weekendLabor Day WeekendPresident day weekend I think they are not the best time to have weddings, but people doYou could always said you had plans...Show more
An Trebil: I am planning a wedding for next memorial day weekend (the sunday). We had to do this because this was the only weekend left at our venue where guest could still have a day off work after. If you're complaining, don't go. Just because it was in convient for you, many people welcome it.
Daria Verfaillie: They do it specifically so that people who need to travel for the wedding have time off work, instead of having to use their vacation days! .Edit: if you want to take a personal variation, use your vacation days.
