Financial aid question?

Darren Heling: if you drop a class and that takes you to below full time status (below 12 hours) then you will be put on "financial aid probation" for a semester. During that semester you can still get financial aid, but must take an extra class (beyond 12 hours) to MAKE UP for that drooped class (note it doesn't have to be the exact class you dropped). "So if you were enrolled in 12 hours, and went down to 9 then you "OWE" them a 3 hour class.. so next semester you must enroll in 15 hours (instead of just 12) to make up for that dropped class. Then you will be taken off probation and will be able to go on about your business. PLEASE NOTE: this only works if you are not CURRENTLY on financial aid probation. Often times when people do this they have already been given a warning (fin aid probation) for the last semester, because of bad grades or dropping, and when they do this they don't understand that the semester they are currently enrolled in is their second chance ! and if they drop of even fail, no aid for them!!...Show more
