Why is the car computer shot?

Gerardo Greist: This depends on much more information than you give here. No one here can accurately answer a question like this.Make, model, year, engine, where you live, etc.You would be far better off to use the telephone instead of the Internet. I bet there are several independent local mechanics in your area. I bet most of them have a telephone. You need to be prepared before you call. Know the year, make, model, and engine of your car. Make a few calls to these local mechanics. If some sound promising take it a step further and qet a quote.A couple of comments seeing the limited information you give.A computer for an imported vehicle will generally cost more money than a computer for a domestic model.A computer for a newer model will cost more for an older model in general.Computers are generally not interchangeable between different model years or different model vehicle. Also, the computer must match the engine installed in the car. For example with the sam! e model car one with a 6 cylinder engine will have a different computer than the same model with a 4 cylinder. You may be able to find a used computer from a salvage yard. However the availability of a computer for your particular model may vary....Show more

Foster Koopmann: once you change the main does it turn over good ? if so then start up checking the gasoline like the gasoline clear out ! if the gasoline is attending to the engine good then start up checking for spark on the plugs ! no spark or a vulnerable spark would desire to be the coil or module ! i very heavily doubt it,s the pc !

Antonette Shappy: did you test it? or are you assUme ing? some r poorly madesome get wetsome burn from owner doing a bad junp to someone dead batterysome cook from a bad overpowering voltage regulator

Brian Marquina: depends on the car, anywhere from 300-1200$

Ronnie Barcus: You can't fix the computer it must be replaced with a new one and they are not cheap no! r easy to get to in most cases. Are you sure thats the problem! and what caused it so it doesn't happen again are the more important questions you need to ask yourself. What kind of car is it? Year, make, model and engine size would be nice.

Gennie Shauer: because it wore the wrong colors...
